Tribe Starts West Coast Swing -- Clutch

It appeared as if Tribe fans would see a loss to begin a six game West Coast road trip last night against the Oakland A's. Going into the 7th inning down 1-0, runs were at a premium.

But who are we kidding? This is an Indians team that had won their last three games in their last at bat, so why not make it four? The Indians did just that using an RBI single by Matt LaPorta in the 7th in to tie the game at one. In the top of the 9th the Indians used a clutch RBI single by Orlando Cabrera to take a 2-1 lead. His counterpart, Asdrubal Cabrera added some insurance with a two run single to stretch the Indians' lead to 4-2. Chris Perez closed the door in the bottom of the 9th, notching his eighth save in nine opportunities.

With the win the Indians improve to 20-8 on the season with a mark of 7-6 away from Progressive Field, and have won their last seven games overall.

The Indians take the field for round two of the series this evening at 10:05 EST looking to win the series. The Tribe sends Josh Tomlin (4-0) to the mound matching up against Oakland's Trevor Cahill (4-0).
