With a dramatic win in their final at bat once again the Tribe notched their 13th straight win at the Jake.
Behind a strong outing from Justin Masterson, despite surrendering a 2-0 lead early on, the Indians prevailed in their last at bat for the third game in a row. A 3-run 8th inning propelled the Tribe to a 5-3 lead. However, as we have seen in Cleveland for so long, our closers always have to make it interesting. And although he has been nearly perfect this season, Chris Perez made it interesting, allowing the Tigers to creep within 1 run run before recording the final out.
The Indians begin a west coast trip on Tuesday as they are in Oakland for a 3 game series before heading to LA for the second time this year to take on the Angels.
The Indians will return home next week to take on the Rays (5/10 - 5/12) and the Mariners (5/13 - 5/15). With the win the Indians improve to 19-8 on the season and 13-2 at the Jake.
