Today the Cleveland Browns hired Mark Whipple as the team's new quarterbacks coach. Whipple comes to the Browns after jobs with the Steelers from 2004-2006 and the Eagles from 2007-2008. He was a quarterbacks coach and an offensive assistant respectively. He was instrumental in the development of then rookie Ben Roethlsiberger during the the 2004 season, leading them to a 13-0 start.
Whipple has also served time in the college ranks as a head coach as well as offensive coordinator. As the head coach at The University of Massachusetts, Brown and New Haven, Whipple amassed an overall record of 121-59. He served as the offensive coordinator at the University of Miami in 2010.
